Briana Miller gained another title last week at the 14’s and under National 9-ball Championships in Tuscan, Ariz.
The young billiards prodigy from Allentown proved that she still has what it takes to remain at the top of her game.  The victory has secured a place for Miller to compete in the World Pool Association’s Youth Championships, which wll take place on Nov 30th in Reno, Nevada.
Four young women competed in the Tuscan tournament last week and played in a round-robin format.  The top two winners competed in the final for the championship where 12 yr old Miller finished the game with a dominant score of 9-3.
‘I thought it was kind of harder,’ Miller said of her national title, ‘I was nervous that I wasn’t going to win it.  I just went in thinking this was my first time.  I didn’t want to go in over-confident.’
Miller has been re-educating herself in the art of billiards lately.  She has acquired the assistance of reading and touring pro, and author of instructional DVDs – Megan Minerich.  Miller still practices and works her schedule around school.
The young champion is about to start the eighth grade at St. Paul’s school, in her hometown later this year.
